Coppa Italia Competition Overview
The Coppa Italia is Italy's main knockout cup featuring clubs from Serie A, Serie B, and lower divisions. Teams compete in single-elimination matches (many two-legged) through various rounds until the final. There are no league-style standings—success means advancing round by round, with Serie A clubs often fielding rotated squads.
As a knockout tournament, the Coppa Italia doesn't use traditional standings. Follow team progression from early rounds (Serie C and D clubs) through to when Serie A giants enter, round of 16, quarter-finals, two-legged semi-finals, and the single-match final. Squad depth often decides who reaches late rounds.
